Biography

Claire Voisin is one of the world's leading mathematicians in algebraic geometry. She disproved a long-standing conjecture by showing that the Kodaira conjecture is false for compact Kähler manifolds, a result that sent shockwaves through the mathematical community. In 2016, she received the CNRS Gold Medal, France's highest scientific distinction, and became the first woman mathematician elected to the Collège de France, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world.
