Olga Taussky-Todd
奥尔加·陶斯基-托德
Torchbearer of Matrix Theory
Biography
Olga Taussky-Todd was a prolific mathematician who published over 300 papers and became one of the foremost experts in matrix theory and algebraic number theory. During World War II, she worked at the National Physical Laboratory in England on flutter analysis for aircraft, applying matrix methods to solve critical aerodynamic stability problems. After fleeing Austria following the Nazi annexation, she eventually joined the California Institute of Technology, where she inspired generations of mathematicians.
