Bibha Chowdhuri
比巴·乔杜里
Pioneer of Cosmic Ray Physics in India
Biography
Bibha Chowdhuri was an Indian physicist who made significant contributions to cosmic ray and particle physics. Working with D.M. Bose at the Bose Institute in the 1930s and 1940s, her research on cosmic ray tracks in photographic plates led to observations that were later connected to the discovery of the pi meson. Despite her groundbreaking work, her contributions remained largely unrecognized during her lifetime due to pervasive gender bias in the scientific community.
