Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard
克里斯蒂安娜·纽斯林-沃尔哈德
Nobel Laureate for Embryonic Development Research
Biography
Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard shared the 1995 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for her discoveries concerning the genetic control of early embryonic development. Using fruit flies as a model organism, she identified the genes that control the body plan of the developing embryo, showing how a fertilized egg becomes a complex organism. She later established a foundation to support young women scientists with children.
